¹⁶ For they can’t sleep
unless they have done what is evil;
they are robbed of sleep
unless they make someone stumble.^(A)

¹⁴ He will be a sanctuary;^(A)
but for the two houses of Israel,
he will be a stone^(B) to stumble over
and a rock to trip over,^(C)
and a trap and a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
¹⁵ Many will stumble over these;^(D)
they will fall and be broken;
they will be snared and captured.

14 Israel, return to the Lord your God,^(A)
for you have stumbled in your iniquity.^(B)
